This course is designed to enhance the skills of law enforcement and tactical team snipers in engaging moving targets under realistic operational conditions. This SWAT sniper moving target course focuses on the beginner and advanced critical techniques, ballistic considerations, equipment familiarization, and decision-making processes necessary for accurate and ethical shots on moving threats in dynamic environments. During this course students will develop an understanding for estimating leads, speeds, utilizing different tracking/ambushing techniques, building a mover data on previous engagement (DOPE) card, understanding the base fundamentals of shooting moving targets, and gain the confidence in understanding the science behind the ballistics and achieving first round impacts.
